Professional Life
My career goal is to conduct research, teach at a college or university, and design effective learning tools and environments.

Research
My research focuses on K-12 teachers' use of Professional (or Personal) Learning Networks (PLNs) for ongoing professional development, emotional and social support, help-seeking, and knowledge sharing.

PLNs are a collection of social media and web 2.0 tools that provide a platform for networks of individuals from around the globe to communicate, collaborate, and learn from one another around a shared topic of interest. My goal is to show educators how to use PLNs to find and share knowledge, engage in professional discourse, and become lifelong learners who innovate and design successful learning environments in their classrooms.
